Kinder Front yard
The refurbished front yard now has much more street appeal and feels like a bigger space thanks to a more restrained use of surface treatments. Most of the existing front yard elements were demolished to make way for a new layout, and ease of use by carers and grounds staff was also a high consideration for the new area.
To encourage creative role play and development of social skills through shared play, the main feature of the yard is the new concrete trike track that connects to a variety of different styled cubbys – there is a Service Centre budding mechanics to “Fix and refuel”, a Bush Hut, and a simple structure that relies on imagination for its use- it could be a shop, a school, hospital or fancy house depending on the day.
The sandplay area also received a major makeover, with a new decking surround allowing for a deeper sandpit with the added bonus of an inbuilt seat and underbench storage.
ECS also painted and installed mural panels that evoke the steep hills and pine plantations that surround the town brightens up an otherwise plain brick wall.
