KINDER REAR YARD

Corryong VIC

The rear yard of the Corryong kinder has been transformed after ECS developed a design to refresh the outdoor spaces and include some new activities to keep little people busy.

The rear yard activities focus on sensory exploration – A granitic Discovery path leads from the front yard past the existing active space below established trees, through the yarning circle and winds between trees to arrive at the shaded deck area and synthetic grass nook. An elevated decking bridge connects back to the Discovery path and links with a water pump station that drops into a shallow trough for floating leaves/bark etc before running down a riverbed channel. Rocks and logs that help keep garden and softfall mulch in place are used as balance walks …

Carnival mirrors and dexterity activities utilise a vertical wall space to add extra play value without using up any of the limited flat play space.

New raised planter boxes filled with herbs, flowers and vegetable seedlings are in a new sunnier position, and are self wicking for easier care over weekends and holidays while new garden upgrades give the rear yard a whole new look.
